Sheila strongly believes in a person centered approach and strives to ensure nursing care follows the best clinical practice standards. In her various duties she has served important roles in key domains, such as promotion of bilingual care capacity, enhancements to dementia care training and key leadership support to the Appropriate Use of Antipsychotic Medication project. Throughout these and other initiatives, the focus has been on expanding the range of possibilities in the pursuit of improved quality of life for residents. She recently joined Health PEI team as Provincial Long Term Care Practice Coordinator and assumed the role as the AUA Provincial lead.
As the AUA Provincial lead, Sheila brings her knowledge and expertise to all 9 long term care facilities to reduce the inappropriate use of Antipsychotics and improve the quality of life for seniors living care homes.
