Loretta Hillier, MA, has been involved in health services research and evaluation, and in particular health services for older adults for over 20 years. She is a Credentialed Evaluator with the Canadian Evaluation Society. In addition to her independent practice, she provides research and evaluation support to a number of initiatives of Geriatric Education and Research in Aging Sciences (GERAS) Centre, Hamilton Health Sciences Centre, and the Regional Geriatric Program central (RGPc), Hamilton. Loretta has evaluated a number of health services-related initiatives for older adults at local, provincial and national levels and across sectors. Loretta is currently the Program Manager for the Osteoporosis Strategy in Long-Term Care, facilitating research, evaluation, and knowledge translation of the Strategy’s various activities.

Dr. Joanne Ho is an internist, geriatrician and clinical pharmacologist who researches adverse drug events in the older individual using observational research and systematic review methodologies. She attended the University of British Columbia for her medical undergraduate degree and then completed residencies in internal medicine, geriatric medicine and clinical pharmacology at the University of Toronto. Her Masters of Science was completed at the Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation during which time she participated in the Department of Medicine Eliot Phillipson Clinician Scientist Training Program at the University of Toronto. Dr. Ho recently completed a research fellowship with the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute through the University Of Toronto Division Of Geriatric Medicine and she is also an examiner with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology. Dr. Ho is an adjunct scientist with ICES, and a Schlegel Clinical Research Scientist. Dr. Ho is an active medical staff member of Grand River Hospital and St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener, ON where she provides inpatient geriatric medicine, internal medicine and clinical pharmacology consultation services. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatric Medicine at McMaster University. Dr. Ho is the founder of GeriMedRisk, a geriatric pharmacology consultation and education service for clinicians in the Waterloo-Wellington Region.

He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. His major research focus is quality improvement and knowledge translation in long-term care (LTC). Specifically, his research has encompassed topics like oral health assessment and practice in LTC, and quality of end of life care.

Previously, Chris led the Canadian Retail, Telco and Tech business at Google – advising C-Level executives at Canada’s major brands on digital strategy, managing through the complexity of technical innovation and shifts in consumers behaviour. Chris is also the co-founder of KidStart – a VC-backed, UK based, consumer loyalty program – and held various roles at Computacenter, a FTSE 250 IT company based in the UK. Janice Keefe, PhD is Professor/Chair of Family Studies and Gerontology and Director of the Nova Scotia Centre on Aging at Mount Saint Vincent University and an adjunct Professor in Medicine, Dalhousie. She is Scientific Director of Seniors: Adding Life to Years (SALTY) a national team to improve the quality of life for residents in long term care in Canada (2016-20) and Lead Investigator on How approaches to care shape the pathways of older adult home care clients (2018-22) – both funded by the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR). She recently chaired the Ministerial Expert Panel on Long Term Care for Nova Scotia. Dr. Keefe teaches in the MA and BA Programs in Family Studies and Gerontology and provides mentorship and supervision to many graduate students and post–doctoral fellows.

Juliet Kerlin has developed and managed programs that address the needs of elders since 2001. As the Director of Program and Research Partnerships at It’s Never 2 Late, she provides senior living organizations access to engagement technology projects, which deliver improvements to their residents’ quality of care and quality of life. Juliet also partners with research institutions to validate the benefits of engagement technology for older adults undergoing cognitive and physical decline. An accomplished regional, national and international speaker, she encourages senior living professionals to embrace the belief that wellbeing encompasses all the dimensions of personhood—mind, body and spirit—and that having fun is important for better health at every stage of life. Juliet holds a master’s degree in Gerontology and has served on the organizing committee of the LeadingAge Hackfest, advisory board of the Dementia Action Alliance and the Board of Directors of A Little Help.

Dr. Emi Kiyota is the founder of Ibasho, socially-integrated, sustainable communities that value their elders. She is an environmental gerontologist and a consultant who implements person-centered care in long-term care facilities and hospitals globally. Her current interest is to create socially-integrated and resilient cities where elders are able to live in their communities and be engaged. She has published journal articles and book chapters and serves on the board of directors of Global Aging Network. She has been awarded fellowships to investigate this topic including the Loeb Fellowship at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, Rockefeller Bellagio Residency Fellowship, and Atlantic Fellowship for Equity in Brain Health at the Global Brain Health Institute at UCSF.

Currently she sits on the ORCA Dementia Task Force and is a Pioneer Network Executive Board Member.
